Sel de Mer Fragrance Oil
Choose a Variant

A salty ocean breeze with a hint of mystique, Sel de Mer fragrance oil bottles its namesake—a complex, mineral-rich sea salt. Bordering on a spa fragrance, cardamom and orange peel top notes balance a rich heart of sea salt resting on an aquatic base of palm, light musk, and amber.

Candles, wax melts, and tarts made with this fragrance oil will set an atmosphere of salty ocean waves lapping the shore. Soap, lotion, and scrubs will transport you to memories of deep relaxation on sun-warmed beaches.

This fragrance is infused with essential oils, including cardamom, clove, and orange.

Blends well with: Vetiver, Cashmere Plum, Orange BlossomSolar Sands, Butterscotch and Bourbon

Alternative branding ideas: Sea Salt Breeze, Sea Salt Oasis, Salt Cave

We experienced a moderate amount of acceleration but no separation. After the oils and water slowly came to an emulsion we switched to alternating between a single pulse of the stick blender and hand-stirring until we reached a light trace. We immediately did a second test to confirm trace and found it was at a thick trace. The batter remained workable and it poured smoothly into the mold without stiffening. After 24 hours, we observed there was very little discoloration and the soap reached a partial gel. The scent was quite strong and true to the out-of-bottle character. After 30 days, the soap had a very slight yellow discoloration, we only noticed it when compared to an unscented bar. The scent was still strong but a little smoother and well-balanced. We’d recommend adding this fragrance at a light trace and plan to work quickly with a simple design.

What a surprise!

I love ocean, water, sea-water...any water fragrance really but have a hard time getting a good throw from most of them. THIS IS THE EXCEPTION. What a lovely salty-water scent. I mixed Sel de Mer with another water type from CS and I am in love. A fresh breath of ocean air...

LOVE IT!!!

Sel De Mer smells so clean and salty. I have made candles and room spray...both have amazing scent throw. Definitely my top favorite from candle science.

I bought this scent based off of the reviews and I am so happy I did. The FOB scent doesn’t do this scent justice. I have made a candle and wax melts with this scent and it’s so intoxicating. The scent is very strong by itself based on my CT. I am waiting for my candles and wax melts to cure to see how the HT will be. I am fairly new to candle making and this will definitely be in my lineup for my candles. This is my favorite scents from Candlescience so far.

Surprising Experience!

Reading the test that was done, I was prepare for the acceleration, but to my surprise it was very slow moving! Love the smell and can't wait to use it in other products.

I was looking for a oceanic scent and decided to give this one a try. I Love it!! I mixed it with a brandied scent and came up with the perfect spa aroma.
It's definitely one of my favorites and I enjoy making wax melts and candles with it!!
