Library Fragrance Oil
Choose a Variant

Put on your smoking jacket and reading glasses, grab a leather-bound novel from the mahogany shelves, and flip through the dusty pages. This distinctive fragrance oil recalls the atmosphere of an historic library of yesteryear, beginning with a teakwood top note that gives way to a heart of cedar and leather. Earthy sandalwood, dark musk, and patchouli wrap up this woody scent.

Library inspires an array of possibilities for any home fragrance line, like book-themed candle collections and other gifts. This fragrance oil isn’t limited to the literary--create distinguished room sprays and reed diffusers that are intriguingly upscale and perfectly on-trend.

This fragrance oil is infused with natural essential oils including cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver, elemi, and cade.

Blends well with: Vetiver, Tonka and Oud, Cedarwood Blanc, Amber and Driftwood, Mahogany Shea

Alternative branding ideas: Antique Sandalwood, Aged Books, Ancient Alexandria

Suggested colors: Ivory, Light Brown

We did not experience any acceleration or separation and the batter stayed very fluid for a long time. After 24 hours, there was no discoloration and the scent was mild with a nice woodsy character. There did not appear to be any sign of going into a gel phase. After 30 days the interior of the bars are slightly pink, but overall there is no significant discoloration. The scent is still mild but quite pleasant. This would be a great fragrance to try an intricate swirl design or any advanced technique that requires a light trace for an extended period of time.

Bestseller!

I blend this 75% with 25% suede + smoke for my "Adventures In A Bookstore" candle, and it is easily one of my bestsellers. Also, has an amazing Hot Throw in 464 with Ecosoya CB 135 (80/20 blend). Definitely recommend.

new car smell

My son has looked high and low for a real, 'new car smell,' and has come up empty handed over and over. Then it dawned on me that what he was searching for was the scent of leather so my search began. Here's the winner: Library. He took one whiff of the bottle and nodded his head. We had a winner. I also purchased reed diffuser oil base from CandleScience and made the blend with 25% Library and 75% oil base. I'm using an old balsa bit of wood soaked for 24 hours in my fragrance concoction before pulling out the wood to diffuse in our vintage Suburban (which mostly smells like oil and gasoline.) Even my neighbor loved the smell so it looks like I'm making an addition to my fragrance line...air fresheners.

Instant Affection

This scent made me smile as soon as I opened the bottle. It inspires quiet, reflection and affection. Well done.

Top Seller

I love the earthiness and leathery smell of this scent. I mix it with fireside for "Suede + Smoke" and with a pine scent for Leather + Pine.

Love this scent!

I made wax melts with this fragrance. I absolutely love it. It is soft and not overpowering. I think of books, leather, and pipe tobacco. Very grounding scent.
