464 Troubleshooting Tips

Not getting a smooth finish on the surface of your candles?

  • Try pouring 5-10°F (2.8-5.6°C) hotter.
  • Don’t let your candles cool on surfaces like marble and granite. These materials draw out the heat from the candles too quickly.
  • Try a second pour or a heat gun to smooth the surface.

Not getting a strong fragrance throw?

  • Ensure you are curing your candles for two weeks to get the best results from the fragrance.
  • Make sure you are adding fragrance at 185°F (85°C).
  • Re-examine the wicking.
  • Make sure you are evaluating the scent throw of the candle in an appropriately-sized space relative to the size of the candle.

Candle Maker's Notes:
This wax can be a little too soft for the summer heat. If you are shipping finished candles in hot weather, you may want to consider a soy wax with a higher melt point, like Golden Brands 444.

Easy

I’m new to candle making but so far this wax has been super easy to use and I haven’t had any problems in small and medium sized container candles.

Last Batch

I started using this wax and loved it! But the last batch came damage and my candles were not good. The wax melted blurry and the fragrance did not blend well.

Soy 464 is one of my favs

I wrote a review a couple of weeks ago & I’m back for an update, soy 464 is an amazing wax. It holds fragrance well, my HT & CT are amazing, it holds color well, & I have no tunneling or frosting. I did figure out that dye bricks work better than liquid dye & I also do 10% max fragrance & I got a perfect candle. My next test is the soy 444 & the recommended wick to go with it, & I’m sure I’ll love it as well.

Amazing

After reading so many reviews I thought I take the dive. Before I was using CS soy pillar wax and results for molds weren’t in my best. I also had many sink holes using the wax. So I changed to CS GB 464 soy wax…. Smooth tops!!!! Wax isn’t messy kept the same recipe and no issue… all materials were from CS
